Before deleting anything
Keep copies of important saved content and original screenshots. There is no cloud-library backup in the current app, and we cannot recover records that exist only on your device. If you have a paid plan, manage renewal separately in Apple subscription settings.
Deleting your Sift account does not cancel Apple billing and does not erase your local saves.
You do not need to delete your account when a trial ends
The 14-day no-card trial ends automatically without starting a paid plan. Earlier trials keep their original dates. Trial or paid-access expiry does not erase your library: you can continue to view, search and delete existing local saves, including offline. New saves and AI require an active trial or paid Pro. Signing out or deleting an account also leaves existing local saves on the device.
You can request account deletion without an active trial or subscription. Deleting and recreating an account does not reset trial eligibility. To stop Apple renewal, use Apple subscription settings separately.
Delete your connected Sift account
- Sign in to the Sift account you want to remove.
- Open You and select Delete account in the account card.
- Read the confirmation about Apple billing and local data, then confirm deletion.
- Wait for the completion message. If deletion could not be confirmed, follow the retry guidance or contact support; a timeout is not proof that deletion completed.
Completed deletion removes the authentication account and its linked profile, AI jobs and results, usage records, and active subscription bindings. Your local library remains so you do not accidentally lose device-only work.
Remove local saves separately
Marking a save done removes that item locally. Its imported screenshot copy is removed after the Undo opportunity ends; this does not delete the original from your photo library. Local removal does not delete an AI result already retained on the server.
To remove the local library, keep anything important and sign out of Sift before using your operating system’s app-data controls. On iPhone or iPad, Settings → General → iPhone/iPad Storage → Sift → Delete App removes the app and its local library; Offload App is different and keeps app data. On Android, app storage settings provide a clear-data option. On macOS, contact support for help locating app data rather than assuming that dragging the app to Trash erases its support files. Uninstalling alone is not a guarantee that separately stored account credentials, including Apple Keychain entries, are erased. Manage device backups, browser storage and shared copies separately.
Delete optional shared reports
In app versions that support optional reporting, you can remove shared usage and diagnostic reports without deleting your account, library or subscription.
- On the device whose reports you want to remove, open You → Privacy & diagnostics.
- Select Delete shared reports and confirm. Both reporting choices turn off immediately and unsent events are cleared.
- Keep the app installed and allow it to reconnect if deletion is pending. Collection remains stopped while the request is retried; server deletion is not immediate while offline.
- Repeat on other devices where you enabled reporting. Reports use a random installation identifier, not an account ID, so one device’s request does not identify every other installation.
Changing either reporting choice also retires the previous reporting identity and requests deletion of its reports before a new identity is used. In-app account deletion stops reporting and requests report deletion for the current installation as well. Uninstalling the app is not itself a server-deletion request, and it can prevent a pending request from being retried. Use the in-app controls before uninstalling where possible.
Reporting records and identities expire after 30 days and are removed by scheduled cleanup. After deletion succeeds, a content-free record containing the old identifier and token hash may remain for up to 30 days to reject late requests. These controls do not promise immediate deletion from provider logs or backups. Read Optional usage statistics and error diagnostics for the data categories and limits.
Advertising measurement records
Optional advertising measurement is disabled in the public App Store version. A separate TestFlight validation build may offer a separately permissioned app-open report to Meta and Apple's privacy-preserving install attribution. The Privacy Policy explains the data and the separate consent and Apple tracking permission required.
If you enabled this TestFlight option, turn off the advertising-measurement choice in the app's privacy settings before uninstalling. This cancels app-owned pending requests, clears the local measurement identifier and prevents new measurement requests from Sift. Repeat on any other device where you enabled the choice. Information already transmitted cannot be recalled, and Apple-scheduled attribution postbacks cannot be canceled by Sift.
Delete shared reports concerns Sift's Supabase usage and diagnostic reports, not Meta records. Sift account deletion does not itself delete information held by Meta. Meta's retention and privacy controls are separate from Sift's 30-day reporting period; we do not promise a fixed retention period or immediate deletion for Meta's records. What may remain after account deletion?
The backend retains a protected hash of the normalized verified email and trial grant time to prevent repeated free-trial redemption. Billing replay-protection events retain provider references and timestamps with the Sift account link removed. These records currently have no automatic expiration. Optional reports and content-free deletion records follow the separate retention limits above. Apple’s purchase history, copies held by you or recipients, and provider backups or operational records are outside the in-app deletion action. The Privacy Policy explains these exceptions.
Request help without accessing the app
Email hello@solvvit.com with the subject Sift Account Deletion. Provide the account’s sign-in email and say whether you want account deletion, removal of particular server data or help with local data. We need to verify ownership before acting. Never send a password, verification code or payment-card details.
We will explain applicable retention restrictions when handling your request. We cannot remotely erase a local-only library or cancel an Apple subscription on your behalf. Visit Sift Support if you want to troubleshoot before taking a permanent action.
